The Sonance Digital Input Module (DIM) is a performance-enhancing accessory designed for specific Sonance DSP amplifiers, including DSP 2-150, DSP 2-750, and DSP 8-130. It allows for a direct digital connection from a source, ensuring the highest possible audio performance in a distributed audio system. By plugging directly into the amplifier's rear panel, it eliminates the need for external Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs) and additional wiring. 

This plug-and-play module enhances a Sonance distributed audio system by allowing a direct, high-fidelity digital audio signal path. It supports PCM audio content up to 24-bit/96kHz and provides both Toslink optical and coaxial digital input options. Using the optical input provides galvanic isolation, which helps prevent hum and interference. The DIM maintains the audio signal in the digital domain for the shortest signal path, preserving audio quality. The module also features buffered loop outputs for both digital formats, allowing the signal to be passed to other components if needed. The simple rear-panel installation requires no firmware updates or special settings.
