Description

The DN9340E Helix series equalizer from Klark Teknik is a two-channel digital equalizer packaged in a 2RU, 19" rack-mount housing. The two channels can be set-up and controlled independently as two separate mono equalizers, or linked for stereo operation. The unit has complete front panel control, which allows it to be used, both as a stand-alone unit, or as a master controller in a larger set-up that combines it with single, or multiple DN9344E slave units. The DN9340E can also function as a slave unit when working with remote PC or mixing console control. In addition to rotary controls and a large, bright LCD display, a two-part, front-panel touch strip is used to select individual faders or filters, and can also be used to adjust gain settings. Pressing either part briefly selects a particular filter or fader. One of the many great features of the EQ is the ability to have available simultaneously, both graphic and parametric equalization. For example, this allows the engineer to setup a sound check for a particular space, using the parametric mode, with its maximum flexibility. Once the show starts, the engineer can flip to graphic mode, which now starts off from a "flat" baseline. Any problems that need fast attention during the show can now be addressed using the speed of operation of graphic EQ. Another aspect of the Helix system is space efficiency, allowing exceptionally compact EQ systems to be assembled. For example, one DN9340E and six DN9344E units would provide twenty-six channels of EQ, each with graphic, parametric and dynamic EQ, plus flexible filters, all in just an eight rack-space enclosure. About the Klark Teknik KT-DN9340 Helix Digital Equalizer

The Klark Teknik KT-DN9340 Helix Digital Equalizer is a sophisticated, professional-grade signal processor designed for precise tonal shaping and system optimization in live sound and fixed installation applications. As part of the Helix series, it provides two independent channels of comprehensive equalization, each offering a full complement of filters including parametric, shelving, and notch types with adjustable bandwidth (Q). This allows sound engineers to surgically correct problematic room resonances, tailor the tonal balance of individual inputs or outputs, and create musically pleasing curves for various sound sources. The unit operates with high-resolution 24-bit A/D and D/A conversion and 32-bit internal DSP, ensuring transparent audio processing with minimal added noise or distortion.

Beyond its core EQ capabilities, the KT-DN9340 incorporates valuable system management tools such as a precision real-time analyzer (RTA) with an optional measurement microphone input. This feature enables technicians to objectively analyze a room's acoustic response and apply corrective EQ based on actual data, speeding up the system tuning process. The processor also includes delay lines on each channel for time-aligning multiple loudspeakers, polarity inversion, and a comprehensive limiter to protect downstream amplifiers and loudspeakers from overload. Configuration is managed via intuitive front-panel controls and a backlit LCD screen, with the ability to store and recall multiple presets for different venues or system configurations.

Housed in a single rack unit, the Helix Digital Equalizer is built for reliability in touring environments and permanent installations. Its robust construction, combined with Klark Teknik's legacy in professional audio processing, makes it a trusted tool for audio professionals. By combining analytical tools with musical sound-shaping capabilities, the KT-DN9340 serves as a central component for system optimization, helping to achieve clear, consistent, and well-balanced sound reproduction in any acoustic space.
