It features eight locking combo mic/line inputs equipped with PreSonus's renowned XMAX Class A preamps, which offer high headroom and a transparent sound profile. Additionally, the unit provides eight balanced XLR line outputs for sending signals to monitors or house speakers. Because the preamps are fully remote-controllable from a StudioLive console or through UC Surface software, users can adjust gain, phantom power, and processing from any location in the venue.

Engineered for the rigors of the road, the NSB 8.8 is housed in a heavy-duty steel chassis with sturdy handles that protect the connectors and allow for easy transport. The unit simplifies complex stage setups by using a single CAT5e or CAT6 Ethernet cable to carry all 16 channels of audio, eliminating the need for bulky, expensive analog snakes. It also features a built-in AVB switch with two ports, allowing for the easy "daisy-chaining" of multiple stage boxes or connecting to an EarMix 16M personal monitor system. For permanent installations, the stage box is compatible with an optional rackmount kit, making it a versatile hub for both live performances and studio environments.
