This system replaces a bulky, heavy tangle of dozens of analog audio cables with a single, thin Ethernet cable, utilizing digital audio networking technology to transmit 32 channels of high-fidelity audio from the stage to the mixer (downlink) and 8 channels of mixed audio, typically comprising monitor mixes and main outputs, from the mixer back to the stage (uplink). At the heart of the system is a rugged stage box, designed to withstand the physical demands of the performance environment, which houses the microphone preamplifiers and analog-to-digital converters, ensuring pristine signal integrity from the source.

The stage box provides 32 balanced XLR microphone/line inputs, each equipped with professional-grade preamps offering ample gain and clean headroom. These inputs are ideal for connecting microphones and direct boxes from drums, guitars, keyboards, and vocals directly on stage. The unit also includes 8 balanced XLR outputs on stage for sending mixed audio back from the console to power amplifiers for monitor wedges or in-ear transmitter systems. Control and monitoring of the stage box are facilitated through a dedicated remote control panel or software, allowing the front-of-house engineer to adjust preamp gain, apply phantom power, and monitor signal levels remotely from the mix position, eliminating the need for an audio technician to be physically at the stage during sound check.
