Its core function is to act as a high-channel-count bridge between the analog world of microphones and line-level sources on stage and the digital MADI (Multichannel Audio Digital Interface) backbone of the DiGiCo ecosystem. The rack houses a collection of modular input and output cards, typically providing a large number of premium microphone preamplifiers, line inputs, and analog outputs.
