About the Midas DL371PRO9 Midas PRO9 Audio System Engine with 31.6 Gigaflops Performance and HyperMAC Router

The Midas DL371PRO9 is the central digital audio engine and router for the flagship PRO9 live sound mixing system, representing the pinnacle of Midas's digital console technology. This rack-mountable unit is the computational heart of the system, housing all digital signal processing (DSP), analog and digital I/O, and the proprietary HyperMAC audio networking infrastructure. Its formidable processing power, quantified at 31.6 Gigaflops, is dedicated to running the console's vast channel count, extensive dynamics processing, high-resolution equalization, and effects on every input and output simultaneously with ultra-low latency. This ensures that even the largest and most complex live productions can be mixed with the same headroom, clarity, and responsiveness as a high-end analog console.

A core innovation of the DL371PRO9 is its integrated HyperMAC router. This provides a high-bandwidth, deterministic audio network that connects the engine to multiple control surfaces (up to four with a PRO9 system) and remote I/O racks over a single fiber optic cable. HyperMAC carries all audio channels, control data, and communications bi-directionally, allowing surfaces to be positioned hundreds of meters from the stage racks without signal degradation. The system supports a massive I/O capacity, with the ability to handle hundreds of input and output channels at sampling rates up to 96 kHz. The engine itself is equipped with extensive local I/O, including analog microphone preamps, line outputs, and digital AES/EBU and MADI ports, providing immense flexibility for system integration.

Designed for mission-critical reliability, the DL371PRO9 features a modular, redundant architecture. It supports dual-redundant power supplies and can be configured with redundant DSP cards and network paths, ensuring uninterrupted operation. All components are hot-swappable, allowing for maintenance without taking the system offline. This engine is what enables the Midas PRO9 console to deliver its legendary sonic signature—the "Midas sound"—in a digital format, providing engineers with unparalleled sonic tools, system scalability, and absolute reliability for the world's most demanding live audio applications, from major concert tours to broadcast events.
