Description

The Countryman DT85S is a professional, two-channel active direct box used to connect high-impedance instrument outputs, such as from keyboards and guitars, to balanced XLR microphone inputs on a mixing console or mic preamp. The device is known for its rugged, durable construction and high-quality, discrete Class A circuitry that provides exceptionally clear and warm sound.

Features

• Two-channel design: Allows for stereo or dual-mono applications, making it ideal for keyboards, stereo effects units, and other two-channel sources.
• Active Class A circuitry: Features hand-selected, high-quality discrete components for a smooth, warm sound reminiscent of a classic tube microphone preamp.
• Flexible power options: Operates automatically on 48V phantom power from a mixing console or can run for about 130 hours on a single 9V battery.
• Multiple connectivity options: Includes 1/4", RCA, and 1/8" input connectors, with two 1/4" throughputs for sending a signal to an amplifier and two balanced XLR outputs.
• Selectable pad settings: Provides 0 dB, -15 dB, and -30 dB pads per channel to accommodate a wide range of input signal levels without distortion.
