Shure MX150B/C-XLR Subminiature Cardioid Lavalier Microphone with XLR Connector

$389.00

The black Shure MX150B/C-XLR Subminiature Cardioid Lavalier Microphone is a tiny lav mic well suited for broadcast, sermons, presentations, public address, and much more. This version includes the RK100PK XLR in-line preamplifier for use with standard XLR connections in mixers, recorders, mic-pres, etc.

The microphone's diminutive size makes it visually discreet and allows for easy concealment. Shure's CommShield technology makes the mic impervious to noise caused by mobile devices, Wi-Fi, TV signals, and other RFI sources. This version of the mic features a cardioid polar pattern that focuses sound capture in front of the capsule for less background sound and reduced feedback, making it well suited to applications where sound-reinforcement equipment is used.

The MX150 includes a snap-fit windscreen and a multi-position tie clip with an integrated cable management system that minimizes noise without increasing cable strain and tension. A carrying case is also supplied.

About the Shure MX150B/C-XLR Subminiature Cardioid Lavalier Microphone with XLR Connector

The Shure MX150B/C-XLR is a professional subminiature cardioid lavalier microphone designed for discrete, high-quality audio capture in broadcast, theater, and presentation settings. It features a tiny condenser capsule with a cardioid polar pattern, providing focused pickup of the desired sound source while offering good rejection of ambient noise from the sides and rear. This directional characteristic makes it particularly advantageous in noisy environments or situations where gain before feedback is a concern, such as on a stage with live monitors. The microphone terminates in a standard 3-pin XLR connector, allowing for direct connection to mixers, recorders, or camera inputs that provide phantom power, without requiring an intermediary bodypack transmitter.

The microphone's extremely small size and low-profile grille make it easy to conceal under clothing, maintaining a clean visual appearance on camera or on stage. Its cable is thin, flexible, and available in various colors to match skin tones or clothing. The MX150B/C-XLR is powered by standard 11-52V phantom power, delivering a clear and natural vocal tone with a presence rise that ensures intelligibility. It is built with durability in mind, featuring a robust strain relief at the cable entry to withstand the physical stresses of daily use and frequent handling.

Common applications include news reporting, studio interviews, corporate presentations, and worship services, where a discreet yet high-fidelity lavalier microphone is required. Its XLR output provides a simple, reliable wired connection, making it a staple in fixed installation systems or for use with wired microphone inputs on cameras and audio consoles. The MX150B/C-XLR represents a reliable, professional-grade tool for capturing clear, focused dialogue in any situation where a visible handheld or stand-mounted microphone is not desired.
