The NE4400S, part of Ashly's Protea™ NE series, is built around a powerful 32-bit floating-point SHARC DSP engine. The "S" designation specifies the factory-installed AES3 (AES/EBU) digital output card, which provides four channels of digital audio output via male XLR connectors. This complements the unit's standard four balanced analog inputs and four standard analog outputs, both via Euroblock connectors. The processor is fully controllable via Ethernet or RS-232, with no front-panel controls for enhanced security.
