The NE4800M is a DSP system processor with a fixed 4-input/8-output architecture for analog audio signals, with the "M" indicating the inclusion of a 4-channel microphone preamp input card. This mic card provides four inputs with switchable +48V phantom power via Euroblock connectors. A 32-bit floating-point SHARC DSP engine is at the core of the unit, providing advanced processing functions like matrix mixing, equalization, and feedback suppression. The unit is housed in a secure, tamper-proof chassis with no front-panel controls and is managed remotely via Ashly's Protea NE Software over a standard Ethernet connection. The NE4800M also includes four expansion bays for additional digital I/O options, such as Dante or CobraNet network audio cards.
