The Ashly Protea ne24.24M Matrix Digital Signal Processor with a 16x8 I/O configuration is a high-input-capacity digital audio hub designed for complex installations where a large number of sources must be managed and distributed to a defined set of outputs. This model provides sixteen balanced analog inputs, accommodating an extensive array of microphones and line-level sources, and eight independent analog outputs for zone distribution or processing busses. It is ideally deployed in demanding environments such as large council chambers, major houses of worship, performing arts centers, and broadcast facilities where numerous input signals require mixing, routing, and processing before being sent to recording, streaming, or various loudspeaker zones. The processor serves as a centralized, software-definable nerve center for comprehensive audio management.

Built on the proven Protea System platform, this processor delivers extensive DSP resources across all channels. Each of the sixteen inputs can be configured with input-specific processing, including gain, parametric EQ, dynamics (gate/compressor), and Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) for microphone channels. The eight output channels each offer detailed parametric EQ, precise delay, compressor/limiters, and crossover filters, allowing for precise tuning and protection of each destination. The powerful matrix mixing engine allows any input to be routed to any combination of outputs with adjustable levels, providing immense flexibility for creating monitor mixes, zone feeds, and recording splits.

Network integration is seamless through dual Ethernet ports, supporting remote control, real-time monitoring, and diagnostics via Ashly's software or third-party control systems. This allows engineers to manage the complex audio landscape from a central location, making adjustments and checking system status without physical access to the rack.
