The ne24.24M series is built around a 4x4 base unit, which is expanded with field-installable 4-channel input or output modules. The 16x4 Logic configuration is achieved by adding three 4-channel input cards and an optional General Purpose Output (GPO) Logic card to the expansion slots. The GPO card enables control of external relays, screens, or lights based on presets or custom logic. Configuration and control are performed via a PC using Ashly's Protea NE Software over an Ethernet or RS-232 connection. This software-centric approach, combined with multi-level security, makes the unit tamper-proof by eliminating front-panel controls. The device features a comprehensive suite of DSP functions for each channel, including equalization, delay, gates, and auto-levelers.

At its core, the unit delivers the full power of the Protea System DSP, with comprehensive processing available on every input and output channel.
