BSS Soundweb 9000iis Network Hub

$109.95

The 9000iis active hub shares the same DSP core as the 9088ii, and the same control i/o connector. However, the audio i/o is quite different. The 9000iis has no analogue inputs or outputs; instead, it has six network jacks.

About the BSS Soundweb 9000iis Network Hub

The BSS Audio Soundweb 9000iis is a dedicated active network hub designed exclusively for the Soundweb digital audio networking ecosystem. Unlike its counterpart the 9088iis which serves as a networked signal processor with analogue inputs and outputs, the 9000iis has no onboard analogue audio I/O whatsoever. Instead, it functions purely as a distribution hub, featuring six network jacks on the rear panel to interconnect multiple Soundweb devices over standard Cat 5 cabling, supporting distances up to 300 meters between units.

The 9000iis shares the same powerful DSP core architecture as the 9088iis, including the Motorola 68000-series control processor and runs identical firmware, but its application is focused entirely on signal routing and system expansion rather than local analogue processing. The front panel provides comprehensive LED indicators for monitoring network activity across all connections.

In large-scale installations, the 9000iis becomes an essential component for system expansion. A notable real-world deployment is at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, where four 9000iis hubs work alongside 11 x 9088iis processors, connected to 9014 fiber interfaces, enabling a total of 80 microphone/auxiliary inputs and 80 outputs across three main audio zones including the choirs at the southern and northern aisles and the large organ. Similarly, St. Paul's Cathedral in London utilizes a pair of 9000iis hubs as part of a redundant audio system configuration.
