About the BSS Audio Soundweb 9088iis Networked Signal Processor

The BSS Audio Soundweb 9088iis is the central processing hub of the Soundweb networked audio system, designed for demanding fixed installation applications. Housed in a compact 1U rack-mountable chassis, this processor delivers 8 analogue audio inputs, 8 analogue audio outputs, 200 MIPS of digital signal processing, a pair of network jacks for system expansion, and comprehensive control options. It has been deployed in prestigious venues worldwide including the Palais des Festivals in Cannes and the Laoshan Velodrome for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, demonstrating its reliability in mission-critical environments.

The processing core of the 9088iis contains two Motorola 56303 DSP chips running at 100MHz each, delivering a total of 200 MIPS of open-architecture processing power. This enables complex signal chains including up to fourteen channels of 12-band parametric equalization, or eight channels of processing with compressor and gate on each, or a 4-way stereo crossover with limiters, delay, and parametric EQ on every output. The unit includes 11 seconds of total audio delay capability via onboard dynamic RAM, and can store up to 60 complete configurations in flash EPROM memory.
