In addition to its 16 inputs, the DL153-UL provides eight analog line-level outputs on XLR connectors for sending mixes, effects returns, or system feeds to stage monitors, amplifiers, or other local equipment. Connection to the main mixing console is achieved via a single Cat5e cable using MIDAS's proprietary DLPlus protocol, which carries bidirectional digital audio, remote control data, and synchronization. This digital snake approach drastically reduces stage clutter and setup complexity. All critical parameters for the 16 channels—including preamp gain, phantom power, polarity, and high-pass filter—are fully remote-controllable from the surface of the connected console, giving the front-of-house engineer complete command over the stage sound from the mix position.

Built for the demands of touring, the DL153-UL is housed in a rugged 2U rack-mountable steel chassis with an internal universal power supply. It features a clear backlit LCD screen for local setup and status monitoring, redundant power input connectors, and comprehensive fault reporting. The unit supports sample rates up to 96 kHz and can be synchronized to the console's clock via the digital link.
