Pro Audio Mixers for Every Stage and Studio

An audio mixer is the central hub of any sound system. It's the place where every microphone, instrument, and audio source comes together to be balanced, shaped, and sent exactly where it needs to go. From a Sunday service to a sold-out arena, the mixer is where a sound engineer takes control.

At AVGear, we specialize in new, used, and B-stock professional AV equipment that's been rigorously tested and certified by our in-house technicians. Every mixer in our inventory goes through a multi-point inspection at our Las Vegas facility before it ever reaches your hands.

  • Access to top brands at a fraction of retail price
  • Certified, tested, and ready to use out of the box
  • 40+ years of combined Pro AV expertise on our team
  • Flexible options: buy outright, consign, or sell your retired/pre-owned gear

Professional Mixer Auction

Compete for professional-grade mixing consoles at auction prices, or turn your unused equipment into cash through AVGear's full-service selling program. Our quarterly Pro AV auctions move gear fast - and our team takes care of every detail along the way.

How Audio Mixers Work

An audio mixer takes multiple input signals (microphones, instruments, and playback devices) and combines them into one or more output signals. Each input channel gives you control over volume, tone, and effects, allowing you to craft a polished mix. From there, the output signal can be routed to speakers, monitors, recording devices, or broadcast systems.

Have Questions?

What is the difference between an analog mixer and a digital mixer?

An analog mixer processes audio signals through physical circuitry, offering a straightforward workflow and a warm, natural sound character many engineers prefer. A digital mixer converts the audio signal into digital data, providing advanced features like built-in effects, scene recall, remote control via software, and more flexible signal routing. Digital consoles tend to offer more functionality in a smaller footprint, while analog mixers are often favored for their simplicity and tactile, hands-on control.

How do I choose the right mixer for a live performance?

Start by counting your audio sources. Make sure the mixer has enough input channels to cover your full band with room to spare. For live sound, look for features like aux sends for monitor mixes, insert points for outboard processing, and durable construction for regular transport. If you need advanced routing or built-in effects, a digital mixing console may be the better choice.

What is a monitor mix?

A monitor mix is a separate audio output sent to performers on stage so they can hear themselves and other band members during a live performance. Most mixing consoles offer multiple aux sends, allowing the sound engineer to create custom monitor mixes for different performers. For example, a vocalist might want more of their own voice, while a drummer may need more bass and click track.

What condition is the equipment in when I buy from AVGear?

Every mixer we sell goes through a multi-point inspection at our Las Vegas facility. Our technicians test all functions, replace worn components as needed, and verify that the hardware meets professional standards. We use a detailed cosmetic and functionality rating system so you know exactly what you're getting. Items range from excellent condition with minimal signs of use to fair condition gear that's fully functional but shows wear.

Does AVGear buy mixers directly, or only consignment?

We offer both options. You can sell your mixer outright for a direct payout, or consign it through our marketplace where we handle listing, marketing, and shipping. Our team works with you to determine the best approach based on your equipment and timeline. Either way, we make the process fast and hassle-free.

What brands of mixers does AVGear carry?

Our inventory includes mixers from leading Pro AV manufacturers like Yamaha, Soundcraft, Midas, Allen & Heath, DiGiCo, Behringer, Mackie, and Roland. Stock changes frequently as new equipment comes in, so check back often or contact our team if you're looking for something specific.
