The modular design approach of the VQ 64DF allows the system designer to create seamless and very predictable arrays which are ‘tight packed’ to avoid any unsightly spaces between cabinets; or they can be used singly as part of large distributed systems. The VQ 64DF addresses this requirement for compact dimensions without compromising performance in any way.

With the addition of these VQ products it is now possible to design and install arrayed configurations comprising of multiple MH (mid-high) horns and DF (down firing) horns, along with MB (mid bass) enclosures – ideal for applications such as large sports arenas and stadia.

About the Tannoy VQ 64DF 2-Way Down-Firing Dual Concentric Mid-High-Loudspeaker for High-Performance Installation Applications

Designed for accurate sound reproduction, the Tannoy VQ 64DF is a passive 2-way down-firing mid-high-range loudspeaker with a dual concentric design that offers high output and optimal phase coherence for high-performance installation applications. The VQ 64DF provides even coverage to areas immediately below main flown loudspeakers. The 60x40° dispersion allows installations of tightly packed point-source clusters for wide coverage while maintaining the venue's aesthetics and sight lines.

The VQ 64DF has 200W continuous (800W peak) power handling. The dual concentric 3.5" and 1.75" diaphragm compression drivers provide clear mid- and high-frequency reproduction. The maximum SPL is 144 dB peak—plenty of volume to cover hundreds of patrons. The VQ 64DF can be configured for use in Single-Amp or Bi-Amp mode, in conjunction with a Lake LM26/44 digital signal processor (DSP) or Lab Gruppen PLM+ or D series platforms.
