AKG DMM 4/2/2 Digital Microphone Mixer

$100.00 - $124.99

The DMM 4/2/2 is a processor controlled digital automatic mixer with four balanced microphone inputs, two stereo AUX inputs and one master output. A unique and very effective intelligent mixing algorithm automatically allocates gain among the system microphones (NOM attenuation). With a special noise detect function and the “Noise Sensitive Threshold” algorithm (NST) an accidental switching of the input channels is prevented.

About the AKG DMM 4/2/2 Digital Microphone Mixer

The AKG DMM 4/2/2 is a professional digital microphone mixer designed for installed sound, broadcast, and conferencing applications where multiple microphones require precise mixing, gating, and feedback suppression. It provides four independent microphone input channels, each with comprehensive digital processing, and mixes them down to two stereo output pairs (four outputs total). The mixer is engineered to operate as a standalone unit or be integrated into larger systems via its digital and analog control interfaces, making it ideal for boardrooms, courtrooms, houses of worship, and distance learning environments.

Each of the four input channels features phantom power, adjustable gain, parametric EQ, noise gate, and limiter functions. A key feature is its advanced automatic mixing capability, which uses gain-sharing or gating algorithms to open only the microphones in use, thereby reducing background noise and increasing overall system gain before feedback. The DMM 4/2/2 also includes sophisticated feedback suppression that detects and notches out problematic frequencies without affecting the overall sound quality. Control and configuration are managed through front-panel buttons and an LCD display, or remotely via RS-232 or RS-485 serial interfaces, allowing for integration with control systems.

Housed in a compact, half-rack metal chassis, the mixer is built for reliability in permanent installations. It operates on standard AC power and includes balanced XLR inputs and outputs for professional connectivity. By combining automatic mixing, detailed digital processing, and flexible control in a single unit, the AKG DMM 4/2/2 provides a powerful and efficient solution for managing multiple microphones in critical sound reinforcement applications.
