EAW SB150ixr Subwoofer

$0.00

A dedicated subwoofer system with a 15 in transducer in a vented rectangular enclosure. Available in a portable version ('R' with handles and NL4 connectors) or a permanent installation version ('P' with barrier strip input and mounting/suspension points). ixR version contains an internal passive network for cross over to a JF80.

The SB150 provides high output sub bass response in a compact enclosure. Tuned enclosure venting extends LF response and minimizes driver strain. MX Series processors extend LF response and safeguard against cone excursion damage. Six year warranty.

About the EAW SB150ixr Subwoofer

The EAW SB150ixr is a premium 15-inch active subwoofer that integrates high-power amplification, advanced digital signal processing, and a high-excursion transducer into a single, powerful package designed for professional touring and installation. This self-contained system eliminates the need for external amplifiers and processors, streamlining setup and ensuring optimal performance through factory-engineered tuning. The subwoofer is engineered to deliver deep, articulate, and powerful low-frequency extension for a wide range of applications, from live sound reinforcement for medium to large venues to high-impact installations in clubs and worship facilities. Its integrated design provides precise control over the subwoofer's response, including crossover points, phase alignment, EQ, and protective limiting, all accessible via onboard controls or remote software.

At the heart of the system is a robust 15-inch long-throw driver paired with a dedicated high-current class-D amplifier, capable of delivering substantial clean power to maximize output and dynamic range. The integrated DSP is the cornerstone of its performance, offering preset tuning for various applications (e.g., live music, DJ, cinema) and allowing for detailed user adjustments to tailor the subwoofer to the specific acoustics of the venue. The enclosure utilizes a precisely tuned vented (bass-reflex) design to extend low-frequency response and increase efficiency, resulting in a potent combination of deep bass extension and high output levels with low distortion. This allows the subwoofer to reproduce the lowest octaves of music and sound effects with both impactful physical presence and musical accuracy.

Constructed for durability and deployment flexibility, the SB150ixr features a heavily braced multi-ply birch plywood enclosure finished in a rugged textured coating. It includes integrated handles and multiple M10 threaded rigging points for secure ground-stacking, pole mounting, or flying. The rear panel houses a comprehensive user interface with an LCD display, system controls, and various input options including analog XLR, AES3 digital, and network connectivity for system integration and remote control. The combination of its powerful integrated amplification, sophisticated DSP, road-ready construction, and simplified operation makes the EAW SB150ixr a versatile and high-performance solution for audio professionals seeking a powerful, self-contained low-frequency system.
