About the Electro-Voice RCM-810 IRIS-Net Remote Control Retrofit Module

The Electro-Voice RCM-810 is a remote control retrofit module designed to add localized user control and monitoring capabilities to compatible IRIS-Net networked audio systems, typically those utilizing specific Electro-Voice amplifiers and processors. This module serves as an interface point, allowing users to adjust volume, select sources, mute audio, and monitor basic system status from a convenient wall-mounted location without needing access to the central system software. It is particularly valuable in commercial installations like conference rooms, classrooms, and lobbies where end-users require simple, direct control over their local audio environment. The module communicates with the central system over the existing IRIS-Net control network, sending commands and receiving status updates.

Engineered for clean aesthetic integration and ease of use, the RCM-810 features a low-profile design that fits into a standard single-gang electrical wall box. Its interface is intuitively laid out with a rotary encoder for smooth volume adjustment and dedicated pushbuttons for functions such as mute and source selection. Status LEDs provide clear visual feedback on power, audio activity, and mute state. The unit is built for reliability in daily use within commercial environments, with a robust construction that withstands frequent interaction. Setup and addressing are managed through the central IRIS-Net configuration software, allowing system integrators to assign the module to control specific zones or groups within the larger audio network.

The functionality provided by the RCM-810 enhances the usability of a networked audio system by decentralizing control, making it more accessible to non-technical users. It bridges the gap between sophisticated, software-managed audio infrastructure and the practical need for immediate, tactile control. For system integrators, this module offers a professional and user-friendly solution to meet client requirements for localized audio management, adding value and flexibility to installed sound systems in corporate, educational, and hospitality settings.
