About the L-Acoustic ARCS II Loudspeaker
The L-Acoustic ARCS II is a versatile, trapezoidal loudspeaker system designed for precise, wide-coverage sound reinforcement in both permanent installation and touring applications. As a successor to the original ARCS, this two-way, passive design incorporates significant advancements in transducer technology and enclosure design to deliver enhanced output, clarity, and directivity control. It utilizes a high-performance 15-inch low-frequency driver paired with a 3-inch voice coil compression driver, managed by a passive crossover network that ensures seamless acoustic integration. The cabinet's defining characteristic is its unique shape, engineered to allow multiple enclosures to be arrayed horizontally or vertically, creating a continuous curved wavefront with consistent coverage across a broad listening area.
The system's name, ARCS (Architectural Radial Curved System), reflects its primary strength: the ability to form acoustically coherent arrays with predictable horizontal dispersion. When multiple cabinets are combined, they function as a single, large acoustic source with a smooth, fan-shaped coverage pattern, minimizing lobing and comb-filtering effects. This makes the ARCS II particularly well-suited for covering wide or complex spaces such as theaters, auditoriums, houses of worship, and outdoor venues where even sound distribution is critical. The waveguide-loaded high-frequency driver provides precise pattern control, ensuring consistent tonal balance throughout the coverage zone while maximizing directivity and reducing energy wasted on ceilings and walls.
Constructed from multi-ply birch plywood with a durable, textured exterior finish, the ARCS II is built for long-term reliability. The cabinet features integrated rigging points that enable secure and precise mechanical coupling for flown arrays, as well as options for ground-stacking or pole-mounting. Input is handled via dual Neutrik SpeakON NL4 connectors for flexible system wiring. When paired with appropriate L-Acoustic amplification and system processing, such as the LA4X or LA12X amplified controllers, the ARCS II becomes a fully optimized component of a larger, scalable sound system, renowned for its sonic accuracy, high output capability, and exceptional pattern control for intelligible, impactful audio reproduction.
