The Barco Folsom R9860411 ImagePRO-SDI is a professional all-in-one video scaler, scan converter, standards converter, switcher, and transcoder engineered for demanding live event, broadcast, and installation environments. Incorporating Folsom's proprietary Athena image processing technology, this 1U rack-mountable unit accepts a wide range of input formats and converts them into virtually any user-selectable output format while maintaining exceptional image quality with minimal processing delays. The device supports 10-bit processing per color channel, ensuring a high signal-to-noise ratio and preserving dynamic range, which is particularly evident in dark image regions and areas of subtle tonal variation.

The ImagePRO-SDI model features three universal analog inputs on two HD15 connectors and one 5-BNC connector, accepting RGBHV, RGBS, RGsB computer video, component video (SD or HDTV), S-Video, or composite video, all with buffered loop-through connectivity. A dedicated SD SDI input and output on BNC connectors provides digital broadcast compatibility, with the option to upgrade the unit to the full ImagePRO-HD specification for expanded capabilities including DVI I/O. A dedicated genlock BNC connector with loop-through ensures seamless integration with broadcast sync environments, eliminating image tearing and motion artifacts through frame rate conversion lock.

Advanced processing features include motion adaptive and field-to-frame de-interlacing modes, 3:2 pulldown detection for NTSC and 2:2 film detection for PAL video sources, user-defined aspect ratio conversion, pan and zoom, freeze frame, and logo image capture with dissolve capabilities. The unit supports NTSC, PAL, and SECAM decoding and encoding, making it a versatile solution for international applications. Control options include front panel electro-luminescent display with dedicated controls, Ethernet (TCP/IP) for network-based real-time control, and RS-232 serial connectivity. Executive mode protects system configuration settings during use, while 64 independent memory presets allow instant recall of sizing, centering, detail, contrast, brightness, and other configuration parameters.
