Evertz 2430GDAC Glink D to A Converter

$0.00

The 2430GDAC GLink D to A Converter provides a simple extension to Evertz multi-display systems by converting a GLink video signal over coaxial or fiber optic cable into a digital DVI signal and analog RGB signal that can be displayed on a computer monitor or flat panel screen, thereby eliminating the 5m distance limit of DVI signals. The converter features one GLink fiber optic input, one GLink coaxial input, one reclocked GLink coaxial output, and one DVI-I video output. The 2430GDAC has been designed for use with any Evertz module featuring a GLink output. (For example, the MVP® 3000MVP-PPMG and 7767VIP4-HSN-G modules).

About the Evertz 2430GDAC Glink D to A Converter

The Evertz 2430GDAC is a specialized signal conversion module engineered to translate high-speed digital video and data signals from the proprietary Glink (or GLink) fiber optic format into standard analog video outputs. This device serves a critical interface role in broadcast and post-production facilities where legacy analog monitoring, distribution, or recording equipment must be integrated with modern, fiber-based core routing infrastructures. Glink technology is designed for transporting multiple channels of uncompressed video, audio, and data over single-mode fiber with low latency and high reliability. The 2430GDAC acts as the endpoint decoder in such a system, receiving this dense digital payload and extracting specific video channels to convert them into high-quality analog composite or component signals suitable for traditional monitors, waveform analyzers, or archival recorders.

The conversion process within the module is engineered for precision and signal integrity. It demultiplexes the selected video channel from the Glink stream, performs high-quality digital-to-analog conversion, and applies appropriate filtering to produce a clean, stable analog output that meets broadcast specifications. The unit typically supports various analog output formats, providing flexibility for different monitoring needs. Its design ensures accurate color reproduction and timing, maintaining the synchronization between the original digital source and the newly created analog signal, which is paramount for critical picture monitoring and quality control assessments where visual accuracy is non-negotiable.

Housed in a compact, rack-mountable chassis, the 2430GDAC is built for continuous operation in a technical core environment. It features straightforward configuration controls for selecting the desired input channel from the Glink stream and may include status indicators for signal presence and lock. By acting as a bridge between cutting-edge fiber optic transport and essential analog video infrastructure, this converter enables broadcasters to modernize their signal distribution backbone while preserving investments in and maintaining the functionality of crucial analog monitoring and processing gear, ensuring a smooth and cost-effective technological transition.
