The Evertz 500A-HD-L is a HD/SD-SDI Reclocking Distribution Amplifier designed for distributing high-definition and standard-definition SDI video signals. It features an auto-equalized input and eight reclocked outputs, supporting SMPTE ST 292-1 (1.5Gb/s), DVB-ASI, SMPTE ST 259, and SMPTE ST 310 standards. The module is hot-swappable and can be remotely monitored via SNMP when installed in a 500FR frame with a 500FC Frame Controller.

The Evertz 500A-HD-L is a high-performance, modular HD/SD-SDI reclocking distribution amplifier designed for routing and signal integrity management within professional broadcast, production, and post-production facilities. Housed in the industry-standard 500A frame system, this module takes a single serial digital interface (SDI) input—supporting both high-definition and standard-definition signals—and outputs multiple identical, regenerated copies. Its defining function is "reclocking," a critical process where it extracts the original clock signal from the incoming data stream, strips away accumulated jitter and timing inaccuracies introduced by cables and previous equipment, and then retransmits a pristine, freshly timed signal on each output. This ensures signal stability and compliance with broadcast standards over long cable runs and complex signal paths.

Engineered for reliability in mission-critical environments, the module features advanced equalization on its input to compensate for signal degradation from long input cables, allowing it to recover a clean signal from marginal sources. Each output is independently driven by a high-quality cable driver, capable of pushing the signal over significant distances on standard coaxial cable while maintaining excellent signal integrity. The unit automatically detects the incoming signal format (from standard definition up to 3G-SDI) and processes it accordingly, making it a versatile and future-proof component in a routing infrastructure. Status monitoring is provided via front-panel LEDs that indicate signal presence, format, and any errors such as loss of input (LOI).
