The Chief SL236SP Smart-Lift Projector Lift is an automated, in-ceiling projector mounting solution designed to discreetly store projectors in sophisticated home theaters and corporate offices. The lift is specifically engineered for suspended ceiling installations, requiring minimal clearance of just 11 inches (279 mm) above the ceiling for installation. Its primary function is to electrically lower a projector into the viewing area with smooth and quiet movement and retract it when not in use, hiding it from view.

The Smart-Lift features robust construction, primarily from aluminum and steel components, and has a weight capacity of up to 35 lbs (15.9 kg) to accommodate a wide range of standard projectors. It offers an extended downward travel distance of 36 inches (91.4 cm) and can be set to three different stopping positions for precise screen alignment. The unit is plenum-rated, meaning it is suitable for use in air handling spaces in accordance with the National Electrical Code, and is UL Listed for safety.

Versatility in control is a key feature of the SL236SP, as it is compatible with a range of options including low-voltage control panels, IR or RF remotes, and can be integrated into AMX/Crestron type control systems via dry contacts. The lift includes two internal power outlets, one of which is switched on the 120V models, to power both the lift mechanism and the projector itself.
