The Epson ELPLU02 is a professional short throw zoom lens designed specifically for Epson's Pro series large venue installation projectors. This interchangeable lens allows integrators to position projectors significantly closer to screens than standard lenses would permit, making it ideal for rear projection setups, corporate boardrooms, lecture halls, houses of worship, museums, and other spaces where projection distance is constrained.

The lens covers a versatile zoom range of 1 to 1.2x, with focal length varying from 14.8mm at its widest setting to 17.7mm when fully zoomed. The fast f/2.0 to f/2.1 maximum aperture ensures excellent light transmission across the entire zoom range, helping large venue projectors maintain their rated lumen output even in challenging ambient light conditions. Throw ratio specifications vary by display resolution, with WUXGA and WXGA content supporting 0.64 to 0.77:1 ratios, while XGA resolution content achieves 0.66 to 0.80:1.

Motorized zoom and focus operation enables remote adjustment from the projector's control panel or via external control systems, eliminating the need for ladder access during fine-tuning. After physical installation, users must navigate to the projector's Advanced menu and manually select ELPLU02 as the Lens Type setting to enable proper optical correction and image processing. The lens can project image diagonals ranging from a modest 60 inches to an enormous 500 inches, accommodating virtually any venue size requirement.
