The Sony CCU-TX7 is a professional Camera Control Unit (CCU) engineered for studio and field production as part of a triax-based camera system. Designed for use with DXC-637 and DXC-D30 series color video cameras via the CA-TX7 Camera Adaptor, this unit serves as a base station that provides comprehensive remote control over picture parameters and enables wideband component video signal transfer over long distances. The CCU-TX7's half-rack width design (EIA 3U) with optional rack brackets allows two units to be mounted side-by-side in a standard 19-inch rack for space-efficient multi-camera installations. The CCU-TX7 excels in long-distance signal transmission, utilizing triaxial cable to transfer video, audio, intercom, tally, and teleprompter signals up to 750 meters with 8.5mm cable or up to 1,500 meters with 14.5mm diameter cable. The unit provides flexible output options including composite (VBS), component (Y/R-Y/B-Y or RGB), Y/C, and optional SDI output via the DXBK-701 SDI output board. Front panel controls enable direct camera operation, while rear-panel connectivity includes GENLOCK input, multiple return video inputs (RET-1/2), PROMPT VIDEO input, and comprehensive remote control interfaces including RS-232C for computer-based camera control and support for the optional RCP-TX7 Remote Control Panel.
