Tannoy AMS 5ICT LS 5" ICT Surface-Mount Loudspeaker for Life Safety Installation Applications (Black)

$0.00

The VLS 15 (EN 54) is an 800-Watt passive column array loudspeaker ideally suited for challenging acoustic and architecturally sensitive spaces where background/foreground music and speech reinforcement is required. Applications include airports, train stations, conference centers, houses of worship, stadium concourses, museums, theme parks and hotels. The heart of the loudspeaker system is its asymmetrical vertical dispersion, which gently shapes the acoustic coverage towards the lower quadrant of the vertical axis.

VLS 15 (EN 54)’s Focused Asymmetrical Shaping Technology (FAST) also facilitates quick and easy installation, with less need for tilting for optimal mounting. EN 54-24 compliance makes the VLS 15 (EN 54) the perfect choice where safety is a top priority. VLS 15 (EN54) packages this performance in a slender and narrow profile, aesthetically refined, powder coated aluminum chassis with curved stainless steel grille.

About the Tannoy AMS 5ICT LS 5" ICT Surface-Mount Loudspeaker for Life Safety Installation Applications (Black)

The Tannoy AMS 5ICT LS is a specialized 5-inch surface-mount loudspeaker designed and certified for life safety and emergency voice evacuation (EVA) systems in commercial buildings. As part of the Architectural Monitor Series with ICT (Inductive Coupling Technology), this black-finished speaker is engineered to meet stringent international fire and safety standards, ensuring reliable performance during emergency situations. Its primary function is to deliver clear, intelligible voice announcements and alert tones in corridors, stairwells, lobbies, and other public areas as part of a centralized life safety audio system. The ICT transformer allows the speaker to operate on standard 70V or 100V constant-voltage lines, enabling it to be daisy-chained with many other speakers over long distances with a single amplifier channel, which is a critical requirement for large-scale, code-compliant evacuation systems.

The speaker incorporates a 5-inch full-range driver with a mineral-loaded polypropylene cone, chosen for its durability and consistent performance. The driver is housed in a sealed, impact-resistant ABS enclosure that is both moisture-resistant and non-combustible, meeting the material requirements for life safety applications. The integrated ICT transformer features multiple power tap settings, allowing the installer to precisely calibrate the output level of each speaker to achieve the mandated sound pressure levels (SPL) throughout the coverage area. This ensures that emergency messages are heard clearly and at the correct volume in all zones, a non-negotiable aspect of system design for building code approval. The black finish provides a discreet appearance that blends with most commercial interiors.

Installation is streamlined for safety-critical projects, with a robust surface-mount bracket that allows for secure attachment to walls or ceilings. The speaker includes a high-temperature resistant cable and connections to maintain circuit integrity in the event of a fire. For system integrators and consultants designing emergency voice alarm systems, the Tannoy AMS 5ICT LS provides a certified, reliable, and sonically consistent loudspeaker solution. It combines the acoustic quality of a professional audio product with the rigorous engineering and compliance needed for life safety, ensuring that in an emergency, the system performs its most important function: delivering clear, life-saving instructions.
