Tannoy QFLEX 40 Digitally Steerable Powered Column Array Loudspeaker with 40 Independently Controlled Drivers, Integrated DSP and BeamEngine GUI Control for Installation Applications

$0.00

The Tannoy QFLEX 40 is a powered, digitally steerable, multi-channel column array loudspeaker designed for installed applications with challenging acoustics, such as houses of worship, transport hubs, and conference facilities. This system is equipped with eight 4" LF drivers, sixteen 3" LF drivers, and sixteen 1" HF drivers, with each of the 40 drivers powered by its own 100-watt Class D amplifier and integrated DSP. The QFLEX 40 utilizes Tannoy's proprietary VNET loudspeaker networking platform for comprehensive system diagnostics and monitoring. Its BeamEngine technology and intuitive GUI allow sound to be precisely steered away from reflective surfaces, creating optimized coverage with consistent sound pressure levels in both the near and far fields. The speaker's high level of telemetry functionality makes it PA/VA compliant for life safety and mass notification environments.

About the Tannoy QFLEX 40 Digitally Steerable Powered Column Array Loudspeaker with 40 Independently Controlled Drivers, Integrated DSP and BeamEngine GUI Control for Installation Applications

The Tannoy QFLEX 40 is a premium digitally steerable column array that balances high channel count processing with a slightly more compact form factor, designed for sophisticated indoor installations requiring precise audio zoning and control. This active system integrates forty individually amplified 3.5-inch coaxial drivers, each with its own dedicated DSP channel, creating a highly detailed and malleable acoustic source. The core intelligence is provided by the BeamEngine software, which grants audio professionals the ability to digitally shape and steer multiple independent sound beams from the single column enclosure. This allows for creative and practical audio solutions, such as directing different audio feeds to separate seating sections in a theater, creating quiet zones in an open-plan office, or focusing announcements in a specific lobby area, all with minimal acoustic spill and exceptional clarity.

The acoustic output is characterized by high intelligibility and powerful, detailed sound reproduction. The collective surface area of the forty drivers, driven by their individual amplifiers, generates a coherent wavefront capable of high sound pressure levels with low distortion. The advanced beamforming algorithms provide control over a 180-degree vertical plane, enabling the sound to be tilted, focused into narrow columns, or split into several distinct lobes with independent content. This precise control directly combats problematic room acoustics by allowing energy to be directed away from reflective surfaces and toward the audience, dramatically improving speech transmission and overall audio fidelity in reverberant spaces.

As a networked audio device, the QFLEX 40 is designed for seamless integration into modern AV infrastructures. It utilizes Dante for primary digital audio networking, ensuring robust, low-latency multi-channel audio transport over a standard Ethernet network. The sleek, vertical enclosure is constructed for permanent flying or wall mounting in prestige environments like corporate headquarters, high-end retail, museums, and conference centers. By consolidating loudspeakers, amplification, and complex DSP into a single intelligent unit, it reduces system complexity, saves valuable rack space, and offers a software-upgradable, future-proof audio solution for demanding professional environments.
