Description
The Roland VC-1-DMX Video Lighting Converter provides a powerful and streamlined solution for integrating dynamic lighting with audiovisual presentations in real time, without requiring complex programming or a human operator. This compact hardware unit is designed to automate and synchronize video, sound, and lighting to create professional-grade, unified presentations for a variety of interactive events such as concerts, clubs, parties, and corporate events. By connecting an A/V source to its HDMI input, the VC-1-DMX's advanced processing engine instantly analyzes the video content, extracting color and brightness information from up to 32 areas of the image. This data is then converted into DMX control commands for lighting fixtures, allowing colors and brightness to change in sync with the on-screen visuals. In addition to video analysis, the VC-1-DMX also processes incoming audio signals via HDMI or its dedicated analog RCA inputs. It detects the music's beat and tempo to synchronize lighting effects like flashes and movement (e.g., mirror ball rotation speed), which can be further refined using a powerful 15-band audio filter via the accompanying software. For advanced users, the unit offers external MIDI control capabilities (both standard and USB MIDI), allowing for granular control over DMX parameters or integration with music production software. The device supports a single DMX universe (512 channels) and can store up to four customized DMX maps, which are accessible via physical dip switches, making it a versatile and reliable tool for a wide range of professional applications.
