Update your broadcast studio or internet broadcast camera with a versatile 3-in-1 powerhouse using the Blackmagic Design URSA G2 Broadcast Camera. This updated G2 model features generation 5 color science and not only supports up to UHD 4K as its predecessor for production and studio work but can now be used as a 6K digital film camera that records in Blackmagic RAW format. The lens mount is compatible with 2/3" B4 lenses, but it also includes an active EF mount adapter, allowing you to access a long line of professional cinema lenses. It allows you to apply 3D LUTs for cinema-like looks, has built-in optical ND filters, features 12G-SDI input and output, captures audio via two XLR inputs, and can record using Prores 422 and Blackmagic RAW onto CFast 2.0 or SD UHS-II cards.

The camera body is constructed with durable and lightweight magnesium, so it will hold steady in any environment. To power the camera, you can use the included 12 VDC power adapter or the preinstalled V-mount plate to utilize professional, high-capacity V-mount batteries. Also included with the camera are the URSA Mini shoulder pad, the URSA Mini top handle, a viewfinder mounting plate, and all the installation hardware and lens caps. A downloadable copy of DaVinci Resolve Studio is included, along with access to future camera software updates.

This allows operators to use industry-standard, high-magnification lenses commonly found in news vans and broadcast studios, providing smooth, servo-driven zoom, focus, and iris control directly from the lens or a remote panel. The camera features a Super 35 4.6K sensor, but it is optimized to deliver a broadcast-friendly Ultra HD or 1080p output with superior low-light performance and minimal noise, making it ideal for the dynamic and often challenging lighting conditions of live events.

Operationally, the URSA Broadcast is designed for fast setup and easy use in high-pressure scenarios. It includes dedicated buttons for critical functions like gain, white balance, and detail level on the camera body, allowing a technician to make quick adjustments without navigating deep menus. The camera supports high-quality internal recording to CFast 2.0 or SD UHS-II cards in broadcast codecs like Apple ProRes and DNxHR, ensuring footage is immediately compatible with edit systems. For live switching, it offers genlock and timecode input for perfect synchronization in multi-camera systems, and provides a dedicated talkback channel over SDI, facilitating communication between the camera operator and the production control room.

Built into a robust magnesium alloy chassis, the camera is designed for durability in the field while remaining relatively lightweight for shoulder-mount operation.
