The Sony PDW-700 is a professional shoulder-mount XDCAM HD422 camcorder engineered to deliver high-end HD image quality with the speed and efficiency of file-based, tapeless workflows. Designed for broadcast, documentary, and production applications, it captures stunning 1920 x 1080 full-resolution video using three newly developed 2/3-inch progressive Power HAD FX CCDs. A 14-bit A/D converter and advanced digital signal processing (DSP) work in concert with the high-performance CCDs to faithfully reproduce subtle gradations and achieve a high sensitivity of F11 (at 59.94 Hz) and an excellent signal-to-noise ratio of 59 dB. The camcorder records using the MPEG HD422 codec (MPEG-2 4:2:2P@HL) at 50 Mbps, ensuring the quality and color fidelity required for high-end productions.

Built for a fast, IT-friendly workflow, the PDW-700 records onto Professional Disc media, with a dual-layer 50 GB disc providing approximately 95 minutes of recording time. It offers exceptional multi-format flexibility, supporting 1080i, 720P, and SD recording with built-in up, down, and cross-conversion.
