About the Cisco 30-1410-02 SFP Gigabit Transceiver Module
The Cisco 30-1410-02 is a short-reach, multi-mode fiber (MMF) Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) transceiver module designed for Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel network connections. This hot-swappable module operates at an 850 nm wavelength and utilizes an LC duplex connector, providing a reliable optical interface for distances up to 550 meters on standard 62.5/125 µm multimode fiber. It is fully compliant with industry SFP Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) standards and Cisco's specifications, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of Cisco switches, routers, and other SFP-capable networking equipment. The module supports data rates of 1.25 Gbps for Gigabit Ethernet (1000BASE-SX) and 1.0625 Gbps for 1G Fibre Channel, making it suitable for high-speed data center interconnects, campus backbone links, and storage area networks (SANs).
Engineered for performance and reliability, the transceiver features digital diagnostics monitoring (DDM) capabilities, also known as Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM). This allows network administrators to monitor real-time operating parameters such as temperature, laser bias current, optical output power, and received optical power directly through the host device's management interface, facilitating proactive maintenance and troubleshooting. The module is built to operate in standard commercial temperature ranges and is designed for low power consumption, making it an energy-efficient choice for high-density deployments. Its compact form factor supports flexible and scalable network design without occupying excessive rack space.
As a fundamental building block for fiber optic network infrastructure, the Cisco 30-1410-02 SFP module offers a cost-effective and interoperable solution for extending Gigabit connectivity. Its plug-and-play design simplifies installation and upgrades, while its robust construction and compliance with industry standards ensure dependable performance in enterprise networking environments.
