About the Blackmagic Design BMD-HDL-PRODISPORT HDLink Pro 3D DisplayPort
The Blackmagic Design HDLink Pro 3G DisplayPort is a professional broadcast monitor interface device that converts SDI video signals into a DisplayPort output compatible with high-resolution computer monitors. This allows video professionals to use affordable, high-quality desktop monitors as critical reference displays for grading, editing, and broadcast monitoring. The unit supports a wide range of SDI standards, including 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, and SD-SDI, and can output resolutions up to 2560x1600 via its DisplayPort connector. A key feature is its advanced 3D LUT (Look-Up Table) capability, which enables precise color calibration and the emulation of specific display color spaces (such as Rec. 709, DCI-P3, or custom grades) directly on the connected monitor, ensuring accurate color reproduction for critical work.
The HDLink Pro is designed for ease of integration into professional workflows. It features both SDI and HDMI inputs for source flexibility, and its output can drive a DisplayPort monitor while simultaneously providing a loop-through SDI output for feeding the signal to other devices. Control and LUT management are handled via an intuitive front-panel menu and navigation wheel, or through included software on a connected computer. The device also includes a built-in stereo audio de-embedder with analog outputs for monitoring audio embedded within the SDI stream. Housed in a compact, all-metal enclosure, it is suitable for desktop use or rack mounting with an optional adapter.
Ideal for colorists, editors, and broadcast engineers, the HDLink Pro bridges the gap between broadcast signal chains and high-resolution computer displays. By providing accurate color management through hardware 3D LUTs and high-quality signal conversion, it transforms a standard monitor into a trusted reference display for production and post-production environments.
