Electro-Voice RE11 Variable-D Dynamic Supercardioid Microphone

$0.00

The Electro-Voice RE11 is a Variable-D dynamic supercardioid microphone created specially for professional applications requiring a sharply controlled supercardioid directional pattern. It is much like the Electro-Voice RE16, in that it employs a blast filter which is an integral part of the microphone. The blast filter allows close-up, handheld use without P-popping and also allows outdoor use without excessive wind noise. Though the RE11 is similar to the RE16, it meets requirements where there is less need for precise unit-to-unit matching.

About the Electro-Voice RE11 Variable-D Dynamic Supercardioid Microphone

The Electro-Voice RE11 is a professional-grade dynamic microphone distinguished by its unique variable-D (variable distance) supercardioid polar pattern, engineered to provide exceptional gain-before-feedback and superior off-axis rejection in challenging live sound and studio environments. This technology allows the polar pattern to maintain a tight, focused pickup area even as the sound source moves further from the microphone, minimizing the influence of ambient noise, room reverberation, and other instruments on stage. Its design is centered on a robust dynamic transducer that delivers a tailored frequency response with a pronounced presence boost, ensuring clear, articulate vocal reproduction that cuts through a dense mix without requiring excessive equalization.

Housed in a rugged, all-metal casing with an internal shock mount, the RE11 is built to endure the physical demands of nightly touring and rigorous handheld use. The integrated shock isolation system effectively decouples the capsule from mechanical vibrations and handling noise, a critical feature for vocalists who move dynamically during performance. The microphone's grille is designed with an optimized geometry to control pop and wind noise, while the balanced, low-impedance output ensures clean, noise-free signal transmission over long cable runs. Its versatile design makes it equally effective as a handheld vocal microphone, a close-mic'd instrument microphone for guitar amps or snares, or a dedicated speech microphone for broadcasting and public address.

Sonic performance is defined by its high feedback resistance, consistent off-axis rejection, and a detailed, present sound signature that enhances vocal intelligibility. The variable-D characteristic makes it particularly valuable on loud stages where monitor levels are high, allowing engineers to achieve greater gain before howlback occurs. As a professional tool trusted by sound engineers and performers alike, the RE11 provides a reliable solution for capturing pristine audio in situations where control over the acoustic environment is limited, delivering performance that bridges the gap between studio-quality sound and live reinforcement durability.
