PreSonus PX-1 Large-Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser Microphone

The PreSonus PX-1 is a true large-diaphragm side-address studio condenser microphone designed to capture vocal performances, acoustic instruments, voiceovers, and podcasting with warmth and detail.

It features a 1-inch (25 mm) gold-sputtered capsule with a tight cardioid directional polar pattern. This pattern captures sound directly in front of the mic while effectively rejecting off-axis background noise from the sides and rear.

Yes, as a true condenser microphone, the PX-1 requires standard +48V phantom power supplied via an XLR cable from an audio interface, hardware preamp, or mixing console.

It features a smooth, wide frequency response of 20 Hz to 18 kHz, delivering detailed high frequencies, a clear midrange, and a warm low end that enhances vocal presence and instrument resonance without sounding harsh.

The PX-1 can handle sound pressure levels up to 135 dB SPL without audible clipping or distortion, making it versatile enough to handle delicate acoustic guitars as well as loud snare drums, brass, or vocal belting.

Yes, it is housed in an all-metal chassis with a heavy-duty wire-mesh headgrille, providing robust structural protection for the internal capsule and delicate electronics against accidental bumps and road wear.

It utilizes a standard gold-plated 3-pin male XLR connector, ensuring reliable, low-noise signal transfer to any compatible audio interface or mixing board preamp.
