Clear-Com CCT-9RT Remote Transceiver

$0.00

The Clear-Com CCT-9RT Remote Transceiver allows the Tempest BaseStation antenna to be located up to 1500 ft (450m) from the BaseStation without any loss of RF signal. The CCT-9RT is connected to the BaseStation via a standard CAT-5 cable using RJ-45 connectors. Power is provided over the CAT-5 cable so that no local power is required for the RemoteTransceiver to operate normally. The CCT-RT is constructed of aluminum allow. It comes with a universal mounting plate that can be used to mount the transceiver to poles, walls or other desired areas. One CCT-9RT can be connected to a single Tempest BaseStation (2- or 4-channel). A direct connection is required. The transceiver will not operate properly if connected to a Local Area Network (LAN) or routed through a network device such as a router or switch. The transceiver has one RP-TNC antenna connector on top of the enclosure that can attach the standard 2dBi whip antenna, or employ optional directional antennas via coaxial cable. The Tempest900 operates within the 900MHz frequency band. The longer wave lengths and wider symbol width in this band allow signals to break through dense walls and other structural objects more readily, increasing the range for users and reducing potential loss of audio. The CCT-9RT is equipped with five LED indicators so that the user can ensure proper operation of the transceiver. RX and TX LEDs indicate proper data transfer to and from the BaseStation and wireless BeltStation. Sync and Config LEDs indicate that the transceiver has been properly initialized and is communicating with the BaseStation. Power LED illuminates whenever the BaseStation is providing adequate power to the transceiver over the CAT-5 cable. The CCT-9RT is weather resistant and is intended for use outside. It is recommended, however, that in extreme weather conditions appropriate measure are taken to ensure that no water enters into the enclosure. The Clear-Com Tempest2400 and Tempest900 were engineered to work together. In applications where both systems are required, these two products seamlessly integrate to function as one coherent system. No intra-system interference. No compromise in performance. No reduction in total number of users on each individual system.Areas of the frequency spectrum that have traditionally been used for wireless intercoms are crowded and more difficult to use. Licensing requirements, radio spectrum reallocation and the wide variety of technologies compete for the same air space. The Tempest Wireless Platform offers a flawless solution to break through wireless interference and offer a comprehensive wired-intercom feature set with the convenience, flexibility and freedom of wireless operation. The Tempest family of wireless intercoms currently comprises the Tempest2400 and Tempest900 systems, available in two and four-channels, and in 2.4GHz or 900MHz frequency bands, respectively.

Remote antenna for base station CM-944 Tempest System 900MHz.

The CM-944 Tempest900 BaseStations are compatible with existing 4-wire matrix or 2-wire Clear-Com, RTS or AudioCom partyline intercom systems. The LCD display makes setup easy and efficient while providing real time status of corresponding BeltStations.  BaseStations* can operate in one of three modes: Normal, Shared or Split. In Normal Mode, the Tempest900 wireless system can have up to 5 wireless BeltStations per BaseStation in full duplex, simultaneous operation. Utilizing the Tempest system's TDMA technology and proprietary Accu-Sync BaseStation coordination, up to 5 Tempest900 BaseStations and 25 Tempest full duplex wireless BeltStations (in Normal mode)can operate in close proximity while maintaining excellent system performance. Tempest900 BaseStations come fully featured with Stage Announce, Stage Relay, Auxiliary In/Out and Relay connections, Remote Mic Kill, Minimum and Maximum volume levels per BeltStation, and Wireless BeltStation Call capabilities. Battery monitoring is available at the BaseStation and through the T-Desk application. In addition, all BaseStations are provided with an Omni-Directional Whip antenna and this Remote Transceiver is available as an optional accessory.

About the Clear-Com CCT-9RT Remote Transceiver

The Clear-Com CCT-9RT is a remote transceiver unit that extends the reach and capabilities of a FreeSpeak II digital wireless intercom system by acting as a dedicated radio frequency (RF) access point. Its primary function is to receive transmissions from FreeSpeak II belt packs and base stations and then relay them across the system's network backbone, effectively expanding the coverage area and improving signal reliability in large or architecturally complex venues. By strategically placing these units around a facility—such as in a sprawling convention center, multi-stage festival, or large television studio—system designers can create a seamless, robust wireless communication network that eliminates dead zones and ensures clear, uninterrupted full-duplex audio for all users, regardless of their location.

This transceiver is designed for professional, permanent, or semi-permanent installation. It typically mounts discreetly in equipment racks or enclosures and connects to the main FreeSpeak II system via standard Ethernet cabling, which carries both data and power using Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology. This simplifies installation significantly, as it requires only a single CAT5e or CAT6 cable run to each unit for operation, reducing cable clutter and infrastructure cost. The CCT-9RT is engineered to work in coordinated multi-transceiver setups, where units automatically manage handoffs and RF channel assignments to prevent interference and provide transparent roaming for users moving between coverage cells.

Beyond basic signal relay, the unit contributes to overall system intelligence and management. It reports its status back to the FreeSpeak II Base Station, allowing system administrators to monitor the health and performance of the entire wireless network from a central interface. This includes diagnostics on signal strength, connected users, and any potential sources of interference. By deploying CCT-9RT remote transceivers, production companies and fixed installations can build a scalable, enterprise-grade wireless intercom infrastructure that delivers the wired-like audio quality and reliability of FreeSpeak II across an entire campus, ensuring critical production communication remains intact no matter where the team needs to be.
