Lectrosonics IFBT4 Frequency Agile (Racking Unit) for Frequency Agile Transmitter

$0.00 -

The IFBT4 from Lectrosonics is a high-quality IFB transmitter designed for applications where long operating range and great audio quality are needed, such as broadcasting, film, and theater. The sleek, simple box can be used as a stand-alone unit, or patched into other widely-used intercom systems. The single XLR input connector is accompanied by four DIP-switches for selecting a mic, line, Clear Com, RTS1, or RTS2 audio source.

The Digital Hybrid Wireless technology allows the system to overcome channel noise by digital encoding and decoding audio in the transmitter and receiver, but sending the encoded signal over an analog FM signal. Due to the FM link being used, the system has all the benefits of traditional FM systems, including high range and resistance to interference, but thanks to the digital technology, the analog compander and artifacts are removed for greater audio quality.

The system is easy to use, featuring a menu-based, microprocessor-controlled system that is navigated with momentary buttons. The backlit LCD is bright and clear for easy reading. The casing is constructed from rugged aluminum to withstand the rigors of professional use, and it is small enough to use in any situation.

About the Lectrosonics IFBT4 Frequency Agile (Racking Unit) for Frequency Agile Transmitter

The Lectrosonics IFBT4 is a specialized rack-mountable transmitter unit designed for broadcast and professional audio applications, specifically engineered to function as a frequency-agile IFB (Interrupt Foldback) or cue system transmitter. Its primary purpose is to wirelessly send program mixes, director cues, and timecode to portable receivers worn by talent, production staff, and crew members on film sets, television studios, and live event venues. The unit distinguishes itself through its fully frequency-agile design, allowing system operators to swiftly change operating frequencies across a broad spectrum to avoid television broadcast interference and other RF congestion, which is a critical requirement in dynamic production environments. This agility ensures a reliable, clear audio link even in metropolitan areas with dense RF activity, making it an indispensable tool for major productions.

Housed in a robust 1U rack-mountable chassis, the IFBT4 is built for integration into fixed installation racks or mobile production trucks. It employs advanced RF synthesis and modulation techniques to deliver a stable, high-fidelity transmission with excellent range and penetration. The transmitter features comprehensive audio processing controls, including adjustable limiting and compression, to maintain consistent audio levels and protect against distortion before the signal is broadcast. This ensures that dialogue, music, and cues are transmitted with clarity and intelligibility, even when talent is moving through acoustically challenging environments. The front panel provides an intuitive interface with a detailed display for monitoring output power, selected frequency, audio levels, and system status at a glance.

The unit supports networking and remote control via standard serial protocols, allowing it to be integrated with frequency coordination software for managing large-scale wireless systems. This capability enables audio engineers to scan the RF environment, identify clear frequencies, and deploy coordinated changes across multiple transmitters and receivers from a central workstation. Designed for continuous duty in professional settings, the IFBT4 incorporates robust thermal management and redundant power supply options to guarantee uninterrupted operation during long shooting days or live broadcasts. Its combination of transmission power, operational flexibility, and system intelligence makes it a cornerstone for creating dependable wireless communication networks in the most demanding audio-for-video applications.
