Sennheiser ASA 1 Active Antenna Splitter (500-870 MHZ)

$0.00

Sennheiser ASA 1 Active Antenna Splitter for the loss-free operation of multi-channel G3 wireless systems. Each ASA 1 can allow up to four ew receivers to share one pair of antennas. Cascading two ASA 1 splitters enables the operation of up to 8-channels of wireless through two antennas. Power is supplied to the connected ew G3 receivers through the BNC antenna cables, eliminating individual power supplies for the receivers.

This is a rack mountable antenna splitter that allows for up to 4 EW receivers to share one pair of antennas without signal attenuation. If desired, 2 splitters can be linked to create an 8-channel system. This unit requires a NT 1-1 plug-in adapter (sold separately) for operation.

About the Sennheiser ASA 1 Active Antenna Splitter (500-870 MHZ)

The Sennheiser ASA 1 is a professional active antenna splitter designed to optimize and simplify large-scale wireless microphone and monitoring system deployments within the 500 to 870 MHz frequency range. Its primary function is to allow a single pair of high-quality, remotely mounted directional antennas to supply signal to up to four independent wireless receivers. This architecture is essential in complex RF environments like major concert tours, broadcast facilities, and large theaters, as it eliminates the need for a "forest of antennas"—each receiver does not require its own dedicated antenna. Instead, the ASA 1 takes the RF signal from the two diversity antennas, amplifies it to compensate for losses, and distributes clean, amplified signals to all connected receivers.

As an active device, the ASA 1 incorporates built-in low-noise amplifiers (LNAs) that boost the incoming RF signal before it is split. This active gain compensates for the inherent signal loss that occurs both in long cable runs from the antennas and from the splitting process itself, ensuring that each receiver receives a strong, clear signal for optimal performance and range. The unit is powered via the coaxial cables using Power over Cable (PoC) technology, typically receiving 12V DC from one of the connected receivers or a separate power inserter, which simplifies installation by eliminating the need for a separate power supply at the antenna location.

Built into a robust 1U rackmount metal chassis, the ASA 1 is designed for reliability in both fixed installations and touring racks. Its plug-and-play operation requires minimal configuration. By centralizing antenna distribution and providing active amplification, the Sennheiser ASA 1 dramatically improves system performance and flexibility. It enables cleaner RF system design, reduces cable clutter, maximizes signal strength to all receivers, and is a critical component for system engineers building professional, multi-channel wireless systems that demand maximum reliability and interference-free operation.
