About the Sennheiser SZI-1029-10-US-B 10W Emitter Panel for Sing, Dual or Multi Channel Use

The Sennheiser SZI-1029-10-US-B is a specialized infrared emitter panel designed for transmitting audio within assisted listening systems used in public venues. Its primary function is to broadcast infrared light that has been modulated with audio signals from a system processor, creating an invisible "light blanket" of sound within a designated area. This 10-watt panel is engineered for use in larger spaces such as theaters, courtrooms, lecture halls, and houses of worship where clear, confidential audio needs to be delivered to patrons using compatible infrared receivers and headphones. The system supports various audio channel configurations, enabling the transmission of a single mono channel, a dual-channel setup for bilingual translation, or multiple channels for multi-language support, making it highly adaptable to diverse programming needs.

Installation and coverage are central to the panel's design. It is typically mounted high on a wall or suspended from a ceiling, oriented to flood the listening area with infrared light. The panel's output is characterized by a wide, even dispersion pattern to ensure consistent signal strength and audio quality throughout the coverage zone, minimizing dead spots. Its construction is robust yet discreet, often featuring a dark, non-reflective front grille that allows the infrared light to pass through while making the panel visually unobtrusive in an architectural setting. The unit connects to the central infrared system processor via a standard wired connection, which carries both power and the modulated audio signal to the emitter.

Reliability and compliance are key aspects of this professional-grade component. The panel is designed for continuous operation, with efficient heat dissipation to maintain performance during extended events. It complies with relevant technical standards for infrared audio transmission and is configured for use with the 120V power standard in the United States. By converting electrical audio signals into a secure, license-free infrared light signal, the Sennheiser SZI-1029-10-US-B emitter panel provides a critical link in assisted listening systems, ensuring that audio is delivered clearly and privately to all users within its coverage area, thereby enhancing accessibility and experience in public gathering spaces.
