About the Shure MXWANI4 4-Channel Audio Network Interface

The Shure MXWANI4 is a Dante-enabled audio network interface designed to bridge the gap between analog audio sources and a digital Dante network, specifically within Shure's Microflex Wireless ecosystem and other Dante-based systems. It provides four independent channels of high-quality analog-to-digital conversion, each with its own gain control and phantom power capability. This allows traditional analog microphones, line-level sources, or other legacy audio equipment to be seamlessly integrated into a modern Audio-over-IP (AoIP) infrastructure. Once converted, the audio from all four channels is transmitted as low-latency, uncompressed digital audio over a standard Ethernet network using the Dante protocol.

The unit is designed for permanent installation in equipment racks and features a streamlined interface with per-channel status LEDs and gain adjustment knobs accessible from the front panel. Configuration and control can be further refined using Shure's proprietary software, which allows for detailed setting management and monitoring across the network. By converting analog signals to Dante, the MXWANI4 enables centralized control, flexible routing, and long-distance transmission without signal degradation, which is a significant advantage over traditional analog multicore cabling in large venues, corporate campuses, or broadcast facilities.

The MXWANI4 is a key component for system integrators and audio engineers who are transitioning to or expanding a networked audio environment. It future-proofs existing analog investments and provides a scalable, cost-effective way to add additional audio channels to a Dante system. Typical applications include connecting wired microphones in conference rooms, integrating playback devices into a networked system, or feeding signals from analog mixers into a Dante backbone for distribution to amplifiers, recorders, or streaming encoders located anywhere on the network.
