EAW SB-850 Sub-Woofer Loudspeaker

$0.00

A dedicated subwoofer system with 2x 18-in transducers in a trapezoidal enclosure. Each driver is in its own optimally vented subenclosure. The “F” flown array version features handles, flytracks, and internal counterweights.

The SB850 high output Stadium Array subwoofer integrates with KF Series Stadium Array systems to form extended range flown arrays. Nineteen-position flytracks and internal counterweights ensure a “dead hang.” Tuned enclosure venting extends low-frequency response and minimizes driver strain. MX Series processors extend low-frequency response and safeguard against cone excursion damage. Six Year Warranty.

About the EAW SB-850 Sub-Woofer Loudspeaker

The EAW SB-850 is a high-output, large-format vented subwoofer engineered to deliver extreme low-frequency energy and impact for the most demanding professional sound reinforcement applications. Designed for large concert tours, major festival stages, and permanent installations in performance venues where foundational bass is non-negotiable, this subwoofer utilizes a massive high-excursion 18-inch driver within a meticulously tuned bass-reflex enclosure. The vented design is optimized to maximize acoustic efficiency and extend low-frequency response, producing deep, articulate bass that can be felt as much as heard. Its primary role is to provide the powerful sub-bass frequencies that underpin modern music and cinematic soundtracks, adding physical dimension and weight to the audio experience in large spaces.

Performance is driven by a transducer built with a heavyweight motor structure, a stiff yet lightweight cone, and a long-throw voice coil capable of handling immense power levels while maintaining linearity. The driver is coupled with a large, precisely calculated port that reinforces output in the lowest octaves, enhancing overall system sensitivity and maximum output capability. This synergy between driver and enclosure results in a subwoofer capable of generating very high sound pressure levels with low distortion, ensuring that bass remains tight, defined, and musical even at peak volumes. The extended low-end response makes it suitable for reproducing the deepest content in electronic music, film effects, and the full range of acoustic instruments.

Built to withstand the rigorous demands of high-power, low-frequency reproduction and frequent transport, the SB-850 features an extremely robust enclosure constructed from multi-ply birch plywood with extensive internal bracing to eliminate panel resonance. The exterior is finished with a heavy-duty textured coating. Integrated handles and multiple heavy-gauge steel rigging points allow for secure ground-stacking, flying in arrays, or integration into custom structures. Connectivity is provided via dual NL4 or NL8 Speakon connectors to support high-current signals. The combination of its formidable acoustic power, engineering precision, and road-proven construction makes this subwoofer a top-tier choice for audio professionals who require uncompromising low-frequency performance for large-scale events and installations.
