The Icron Ranger 2212 is a two-module (Local Extender or LEX, and Remote Extender or REX) plug-and-play solution that provides true USB 2.0 extension at speeds up to 480Mbps over a single Cat 5e cable or better, up to a distance of 100 meters (330 feet). A key feature of the 2212 model is that it delivers the necessary 500mA of power to both USB ports on the remote hub (REX unit) over the Cat 5e link itself, meaning an AC power outlet is only needed at the local (LEX) end. This design simplifies installation in locations such as industrial, medical, and commercial environments where remote power access might be limited.
