About the Lexicon MX200 Dual Reverb Effects Processor

The Lexicon MX200 is a dual-channel, stereo digital effects processor that brings the renowned reverb and effect algorithms from Lexicon's professional heritage into an affordable and accessible rack-mounted unit. Designed for project studios, live sound reinforcement, and post-production environments, it provides two independent signal processing engines, allowing users to run two separate effects simultaneously—such as a reverb on a vocal channel and a delay on a guitar—or to cascade effects for more complex signal chains. The processor features a comprehensive selection of high-quality, studio-grade effects derived from Lexicon's classic algorithms, including halls, plates, rooms, and chambers for reverb, alongside delays, choruses, flangers, and pitch modulation effects. This versatility makes it a valuable tool for enhancing recordings, live mixes, and broadcast audio with spatial depth and movement.

The user interface is designed for intuitive operation, with a clear LCD screen and dedicated knobs for quick editing of key parameters like decay time, pre-delay, and mix level for each of the two channels. Each channel can store up to 99 user programs in addition to factory presets, enabling sound engineers and musicians to save and recall custom settings for different songs or mix scenarios. The unit offers comprehensive connectivity with balanced analog inputs and outputs on both quarter-inch TRS and XLR connectors, ensuring easy integration into any professional or semi-professional audio setup. Additionally, digital I/O via S/PDIF allows for pristine, lossless effect processing within a digital audio workstation environment.

Built into a sturdy, single rack space metal chassis, the MX200 is designed for reliability in both studio and live applications. Its dual-engine architecture not only increases flexibility but also ensures that processing resources are dedicated, maintaining high audio quality even when both channels are engaged with complex algorithms. By delivering the characteristic Lexicon "sound"—known for its smooth, natural tails and musical modulation—in a straightforward and cost-effective package, the MX200 serves as an excellent entry point into high-end effects processing and a trustworthy workhorse for adding professional polish to any audio production.
