About the QSC I/O-11NE Versatile Network Interface
The QSC I/O-11NE is a versatile, single-channel network audio interface designed for professional integration within Q-Sys ecosystems. It serves as a critical bridge between analog or digital audio signals and the networked audio environment, enabling seamless incorporation of legacy equipment, microphones, line-level sources, and control signals into a fully digital, software-defined system. The unit provides a comprehensive set of input and output options on a single channel, including a mic/line input with phantom power, a line-level output, and configurable GPIO (General Purpose Input/Output) for contact closure or voltage control. This flexibility allows it to address a wide array of common integration points, such as connecting a podium microphone, integrating a legacy CD player, providing a local monitor output, or triggering external devices like screen lifts or motorized drapes, all while being managed and routed through the centralized Q-Sys Core processor.
At the heart of the I/O-11NE is its high-performance analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion, which ensures transparent audio quality with low noise and distortion. The microphone preamplifier offers ample gain for low-output dynamic microphones while providing phantom power for condenser models. The device connects to the Q-LAN network via a standard Gigabit Ethernet port, receiving both power (via PoE+ or an optional external power supply) and audio data over a single CAT5e/6 cable. This dramatically simplifies installation by reducing cable runs and centralizing control. Configuration is performed entirely within the Q-Sys Designer software, where the device appears as a software-defined component, allowing users to assign its inputs, outputs, and GPIO pins to any function within the system's audio and control routing.
The unit is built for reliability in commercial installations, featuring a rugged metal chassis designed for inconspicuous placement under tables, in lecterns, or within equipment racks. Its network-based architecture future-proofs installations by allowing functional changes and expansions to be made through software updates rather than hardware swaps. By consolidating multiple interface functions into a single, networked device, the QSC I/O-11NE reduces system complexity, lowers installation costs, and provides integrators with a powerful, scalable tool for bringing virtually any audio source or control point into the modern, IP-based audio environment of a Q-Sys system.
