Made for receiving C-Band VideoCipherII Plus encrypted signals (e.g., HBO, Cinemax of the late ’80s/early ’90s), it supports both video scrambling and enhanced audio encryption via RS (Renewable Security) modules. Often sold used or refurbished, it remains fully functional and retains RS compatibility when the appropriate smart card is installed.
