About the (2) Custom Vari-Lite VL Hanging Brackets

Custom Vari-Lite VL hanging brackets are specialized mounting rails or Omega-style brackets designed to securely attach heavy automated moving head fixtures (such as the VL2600, VL3500, or VL4000 series) to overhead theatrical truss systems. Because moving lights generate significant rotational torque and dynamic kinetic force during rapid pan and tilt movements, these brackets act as a rock-solid intermediary between the fixture's base and standard theatrical C-clamps or half-couplers.

Depending on the specific Vari-Lite model generation, these custom brackets typically interface with the fixture base using either recessed heavy-duty bolts or quick-release quarter-turn camlocks. By bridging the fixture's mounting points, they provide a central 1/2-inch mounting hole that perfectly accommodates standard high-load clamps (like a Mega-Claw or Cheeseborough), allowing riggers to safely suspend the fixture upside down or sideways in a truss grid.
