The Litepanels LP50 (often recognized as the classic Litepanels Mini Daylight Flood) is a pioneering, ultra-compact LED lighting fixture designed primarily for on-camera use in electronic news gathering (ENG), documentary filmmaking, and run-and-gun videography. As an early industry standard for portable LED lighting, the LP50 provides a soft, broad, daylight-balanced (5600K) flood of light that is ideal for illuminating a subject's face at close to medium range. Despite outputting the equivalent of a 25-watt tungsten bulb, it draws an incredibly efficient 7 watts of power and generates virtually no forward heat, keeping talent comfortable during close-up interviews.

Built for demanding field production, the LP50 is housed in a durable, lightweight rectangular chassis that easily mounts to the hot shoe of a camera or a specialized bracket via a standard 1/4"-20 thread. The rear of the unit features a dedicated, smooth-turning rotary dimmer dial, allowing camera operators to seamlessly adjust the brightness from 0 to 100% without experiencing the annoying color shift commonly associated with dimmed tungsten fixtures. It utilizes a highly modular power system, capable of running off an included AC wall adapter, tapping into large broadcast camera batteries via an Anton Bauer P-Tap cable, or utilizing specialized snap-on battery plates for untethered mobility.
