About the (3) Custom 2" Barndoors

Custom 2-inch barndoors are miniature lighting control accessories designed specifically for micro-fixtures, such as MR11 or MR16 halogen pin spots, compact LED accent lights, and specialized macro-photography illuminators. By manipulating the tiny hinged leaves, lighting technicians can precisely shape a narrow beam of light, making them essential for tabletop product videography, highlighting specific architectural details, or hiding small practical accent lights within a tight theatrical set.

Despite their incredibly small form factor, these barndoors are typically constructed from heat-resistant aluminum to safely handle the localized thermal output of small halogen bulbs. They are coated in a matte black finish to prevent internal reflections and usually utilize a spring-tensioned clip, a single set screw, or a specialized drop-in retaining ring to secure them directly to the 2-inch front bezel of the miniature fixture.
