The Sound Devices PIX 260i is a professional, file-based rack-mount video recorder and player designed to replace traditional tape decks in broadcast studios, live production flypacks, and post-production suites. Occupying a compact half-rack 2U chassis, the PIX 260i captures studio-grade 10-bit and 12-bit video using Apple ProRes (up to 4444) and Avid DNxHD codecs. Its front-panel 5-inch IPS color monitor provides high-resolution confidence monitoring, scopes, and intuitve menu navigation.

Edit-Ready ProRes & DNxHD Recording: Records high-quality 10-bit 4:2:2 and 12-bit 4:4:4 video directly to QuickTime files for instant editorial import.
32-Track Audio Processing: Full audio support for 32 simultaneous tracks of 48 kHz audio over Dante IP networking, AES/EBU, analog, and embedded SDI/HDMI.
4-Drive Simultaneous Backup: Supports simultaneous recording across up to two drive-caddy SSDs and two external eSATA drives for instant redundancy.
Hardware Up/Down/Cross Scaler: Built-in real-time hardware scaler handles format and frame-rate conversions including 3:2 pull-down removal.
Built-In Precision Ambient Timecode: Features an integrated Ambient Clockit timecode generator and reader alongside genlock output for multi-cam sync.
